  • Earth Day Festival at the Pocono Environmental Education Center

    Description:

    The PA/NJ Chapter is seeking a volunteer to represent us at this small community event. Help celebrate the Earth at this fun family event in Pike County! There will be hands-on learning stations, interpretive hikes, conservation exhibits, crafts, food, music, and much more!

    You should arrive at least a half hour before the event to set up. Volunteer time: 9:30 am to 4:00 pm

    Description:

    Burlington County's Annual Earth Fair returns each year to Historic Smithville Park featuring vendors, entertainment for all ages, and kids’ activities with an environmental twist. This family event focuses on ways to protect and enjoy our environment. Children's activities will include trash sculpting, paper making, storytelling, environmental vaudeville, face painting…and more. Be sure to check out the art exhibits in the Worker’s House & Gallery and the Smithville Mansion Annex Gallery. There will be “Green” vendors, artists, crafters, activity providers and performers that have an earth-friendly theme.

This is an opportunity for forest-product companies to enhance their business and production practices, as well as shop for goods and services from commercial vendors, all in one convenient location.

    Help represent our Chapter at this two-day family event focused on environmental education at historic Grey Towers -- the summer retreat of Gifford Pinchot, two-time Governor and the first Chief of the US Forest Service.

    Volunteer for a couple hours to share your knowledge and interest in the American chestnut. Our display provides a helpful visual aid for sharing the whole story including its: life, death, and birth. We will also provide volunteers with educational handouts, membership information and pencils and stickers for the kids.?

The Expo is free of charge and takes place rain or shine.
