Membership in the Pennsylvania Chapter assures continual participation and involvement in the worthwhile activity of restoring the American chestnut tree to the forests of the U.S.  PA-TACF has more than 980 members throughout the state--many are right near you.  We depend on our members who enthusiastically volunteer and participate in planting, pollinating ,harvesting and donating dollars to help. Other benefits of membership include:

• Participation in two member’s meetings each year—Spring and Fall.

• A Grower’s Meeting in the Spring to collect seed, supplies and learn growing tips.

• Two Newsletters per year, The Chestnut Tree, that keeps our members informed.

• Technical information regarding planting, pollinating, harvesting, seed storage and chestnut species identification.

• Email discussion groups for members: The TACF Growers list, which is an open forum for all subjects related to  growing chestnut trees, and the PA-TACF list, which announces activities and subjects related to the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation. The lists are private and only accessible to members.

• The American Chestnut Foundation.  Membership in the Pennsylvania Chapter automatically registers you with the Foundation.  TACF publishes a newsletter and scientific journal and hosts an annual meeting each autumn.

Donations may be made to the Pennsylvania Chapter.  PA-TACF is incorporated in Pennsylvania  as a non-profit organization under the IRS  501 (c) (3) rules.  Donations are tax deductible.

The Chapter depends upon donations, grants and membership dues to sustain the chestnut research and breeding program as well as education, and membership support and communication.  Thank you for your support
